Overview

QR Protect is a mobile security app that scans QR codes and checks URLs for threats before you open them. We are committed to your privacy. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.

What We Collect

QR Protect does not require an account, does not track usage, and does not display advertisements. The free tier maintains a local scan counter on your device to manage the daily scan limit. This counter is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Permissions

QR Protect requires access to your device camera solely to scan QR codes. Camera data is processed on-device and is never transmitted or stored.

How Scanning Works

When you scan a QR code containing a URL, that URL is transmitted to a proxy server owned and operated by QR Protect LLC solely for the purpose of security scanning. The URL is checked against Google Web Risk and is never stored or logged after the scan completes.

Third Party Services

QR Protect uses Google Cloud Web Risk to evaluate URLs for security threats. Google’s privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Children’s Privacy

QR Protect does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
